Singer Beyoncé Knowles has reportedly married her long-time boyfriend, hip-hop artist Jay-Z. According to People magazine, a friend confirmed that the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony, attended only by close friends and family members.
The source said: "Jay wanted it to be a really private affair - close friends and family."
The reports says that the wedding ceremony was followed by a lavish party at Jay-Z's apartment, which was attended by members of the Knowles family, as well as Destiny's Child stars Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.
The couple sparked marriage rumours last week when they applied for a wedding licence in New York. At a concert in North Carolina over the weekend Mary J Blige said on stage: "Congratulations to my man, Jay-Z, and my girl B."
Jay-Z, who was performing at the same concert, did not make reference to a wedding while on stage. Neither star has yet confirmed the wedding officially.
