It was slime time for Katy Perry, Tina Fey, Steve Carrell and others as the Kids' Choice Awards wound up in Los Angeles.
The stars, along with host Kevin James and a cast of children, were all covered in thick green slime during the awards ceremony. Every year, show organisers choose one celebrity to "slime" and this year singer Katy Perry was the main victim.
As she moved up to the podium to present Miley Cyrus with the Favourite Film Actress trophy, Katy was drenched in the green gooey liquid.
"I can't see anything," she shouted. "Why does it taste like boogers?"
Katy then chased Miley around the stage trying to smear the substance all over her. Fortunately for Miley, Katy’s co-presenter Jonah Hill enveloped Katy in a huge bear hug, saving Miley from the slime.
The awards saw Twilight star Taylor Lautner triumph. The 18-year-old actor took home the coveted orange blimp-shaped trophy for Favourite Film Actor for his role as werewolf Jacob Black in The Twilight Saga.
Taylor and his co-star Kristen Stewart also won the inaugural Cutest Movie Couple award for their budding romance in the film franchise. Taylor was thrilled to win both awards, telling the crowd they meant more to him than any other prize.
"I have to admit I have always dreamt of winning one of these orange blimps," he said.
Jay-Z, Selena Gomez, Jim Carrey and Taylor Swift also won awards. The event was hosted by US comedian Kevin James, who was joined onstage by Adam Sandler, Will Smith, Jackie Chan, Zoe Saldana and the Jonas Brothers.
