Katy Perry wore custom-made shorts encrusted with more than 7000 crystals for her new music video.
Katy is famous for her daring outfits and has surpassed herself in the video for her latest single California Gurls, wearing crystal-studded shorts and a bikini with two conveniently placed cupcakes.
The shorts Katy wears in the just-debuted music video aren't just any old cut-offs - they are a custom-embellished pair handcrafted by Italian denim house Diesel.
With help from Katy's hard-working stylist Johnny Wujek, Diesel covered the indigo-blue-washed Mintha 8B3 style shorts with 7,000 blue and grey Swarovski crystals. Fashionista Katy was thrilled with the sexy shorts, which she says were inspired by The Dukes of Hazard character Daisy Duke.
"Diesel made me those shorts, which is really cool. They bedazzled the whole daisy dukes," the star told MTV.com.
Katy was so excited she couldn't wait to show the garment off on her Twitter page where she posted a picture of the sparkly one-off pair, warning her follower not to be jealous.
"Don't be jelly about the custom Diesel daisy dukes!" she tweeted
