Avril Lavigne showed off her impressive skills on a surf board yesterday as she cruised some pretty large waves off Manly Beach near Sydney, Australia.
Dressed in a full length wetsuit and a black baseball cap, the singer managed to carve her way through the water as some of her friends filmed the activity for her website.
The 26-year-old Canadian star took to her Twitter page to talk about the experience.
'Just surfed on a 4 ft wave on a 7ft board in manly OZ. My smallest board and biggest wave to date!' she wrote.
'I'm tired now haha. Gonna upload WTH.TV soon of me surfing'
Avril is currently on a tour of Australia promoting her new album Goodbye Lullaby and took time out from the hectic schedule to spend time on the beach with friends.
Earlier in the trip Avril visited Sydney's Taronga Zoo, where she got up close and personal with some of the wildlife park's residents.
'Omg just went to the zoo and got to touch koala bears and kangaroos! Wow!' she Tweeted, before sending boyfriend Brody Jenner's stepsister Kim Kardashian a picture of her favourite Aussie chocolate snack – Tim Tams.
She told Kim, 'I actually had some waiting for me in my hotel room. Ur right.. Pretty good.'
