And such is the case for actress and singer Emma Roberts, whose youthfully chic hairstyles have been catching second glances at recent red carpet and public appearances.
StyleList got the 411 on how to create the looks from the star's longtime personal hair stylist, Tami Jensen of Malibu's Privé Salon.

Emma requested a fancy, yet simple updo to compliment her ruffled Chanel dress. To show off the neckline, Jensen pulled the hair back into a high ponytail, allowing for some volume on top and for flyaways to slip out. She then twisted and pinned the pony into a bun, and spritzed on Privé's Firm Hold Finishing Hair Spray to lock the style in place.
"Since it's a feminine dress, we wanted to keep a whimsical look, nothing too tight or slick," explains Jensen.Couture Creation: Louis Vuitton and Glamour Event

"By giving Emma a tighter curl, her hair looks shorter without having to cut it, which is a great way to mix things up," says Jensen.
To get the look, curl hair in sections with a 1/2 wide curling iron from the ears down. Spritz a texture spray on like Privé's Finishing Texture Spray, and then use your fingers to break up the curls. Tease the bottom part of hair under your chin for a full and messy look. Then part the hair however you'd like and pull it back on the sides, twisting and pinning back. A little tease around the pinned area will hide the metallic glimmer of pins.
Ever since Marilyn Monroe started the trend, soft and sexy curls with a sideswept bangs have been a Hollywood glamour must, and are a foolproof way to look amazing both day and night.
Apply a lightweight mousse to damp hair, and then blow dry locks upside down for mega volume. Then take a one inch curling iron and wrap hair from the root all the way down, alternating directions with each section. "This is a trick for a natural curl as opposed to a structured ringlet," advises Jensen.
Finish by making a strong side part and brushing bangs forward into a dramatic swoop. Blast a blowdryer facing downwards on bangs while using a round brush to finish off the look.
Emma asked for a flirtatiously fun hair style to play up her prim-meets-sexy buttoned-up Marc Jacobs dress. "The low ponytail is perfect for a relaxed, yet sophisticated look, and face-framing fringe is a great way to play up the femininity of the style," says Jensen.
Spray a root lifter like Privé's Root Amplifier and a texture spray to give strands both texture and controlled messiness. Then either blowout hair with a big round brush or use a big barrel curling iron, whichever you find easier.
Pull hair back into a pony at the nape of the neck, letting pieces fall and leaving the fringe out. Finish by twisting around the very top of the ponytail, and securing with bobby pins.
