The actress — who plays Knox in a TV movie about her trial and conviction for the murder of her college roommate in Italy three years ago — insists that after researching her character and the crime, she’s still open-minded about Knox.
“It was like, ‘She’s innocent. She’s guilty. She’s innocent. She’s guilty. She’s innocent.’ I can’t say that I have an opinion. I don’t know that we’ll ever really know.
“But, regardless of innocence or guilt, I believe she has a spirit. She’s a real person. She was a young girl who had dreams and aspirations.
