Earlier this week, Keyshia Cole announced via her Twitter page that she’s cut ties with her longtime manager and friend, Manny Halley.
“Would like for you guys to know that Manny Halley is no longer my management,” tweeted Cole, followed by “Someone said if the people around u won’t change, change the people around you,” she tweeted.
It’s a surprising move for Cole considering Halley has not only played an integral part in her success over the years in both music and reality TV, but also in helping her reconnect with her estranged family members, most notably her mother, Francine "Frankie" Lons.
Cole has yet to provide a specific reason for the split but it’s possible that it’s related to the underwhelming response to Coles' single with Nicki Minaj, “I Ain’t Thru,” and her new album, Calling All Hearts. The album has sold considerably less than her previous releases, debuting at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and only moving 181,300 units to date.
