Keyshia Cole says Aretha Franklin wants her to write a song for her

R&B singer Keyshia Cole recently tweeted that she was contacted by the Queen of Soul to write a song for her.

While chatting with fans about her songwriting on her latest album, "Calling All Hearts," Cole answered a fan's query about whether she had written for any other artists.

"Aretha Franklin called me 2 months ago 4 me to write one for her. Also monica and faith," Cole tweeted, also referring to singers Monica (who's engaged to former Spartan basketball player Shannon Brown) and Faith Evans (who's playing former Supreme Florence Ballard in a biopic).
If Franklin is in the market for new material, it could hint at a new album in the works. If Cole's timeline is to be believed, Franklin would have contacted her just before canceling several shows before undergoing surgery and reports of a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

Some fans were a bit skeptical, though -- and with good reason. While Cole has carved out a niche in R&B with one gold and two platinum albums, she's still a relative newbie compared to the four-plus decades veteran Franklin.

"So Aretha Franklin ask U 2 write a song 4 her,I mean Did u talk 2 her personally?? I just can't see it!" @TheFashnJunke tweeted at Cole.
