Despite her thermonuclear hotness and action-ready physique, Jessica Biel can't seem to get major Hollywood roles besides a few minutes of screentime amongst the machismo of THE A-TEAM.So the actress is taking her body and business indie for the mystery thriller THE TALL MAN, currently shooting in Canada. The movie comes from French writer-director Pascal Laugier, who made a mark with the challenging MARTYRS. Laugier, who was once attached to the now-delayed HELLRAISER reboot, is making his English-language debut on the movie.
THE TALL MAN is a story of the haunting secrets that hide behind closed doors. With children gone missing over the years leaving neither a clue nor a witness, superstitious locals talk of ‘The Tall Man,’ a legendary, mysterious dark figure who takes children away never to be seen again. When a woman’s son is taken, the chase is on and with it the quest for answers: who is the Tall Man and what happens to the children?
The project is described as "an outdoor PANIC ROOM" (??) and a "suspenseful thriller in the vein of M. Night Shyamalan’s earlier films" (but not his more recent rubbish, obviously). The movie also features Stephen McHattie (PONTYPOOL, 300), William B. Davis ("X-Files" Cigarette Smoking Man), Samantha Ferris ("Supernatural") and Jodelle Ferland (SILENT HILL).
