Emma Watson Takes First Post Potter Role in “My Week With Marilyn” Movie
Emma Watson who was just voted Britain’s best dressed female in a survey conducted by Glamour magazine, has signed on for a role in “My Week With Marilyn,” based on the memoirs of Colin Clark. Clark worked as Laurence Olivier’s assistant on the film “The Prince and The Showgirl” in 1956, also starring Marilyn Monroe who Colin became obsessed with. Simon Curtis will direct “My Week With Marilyn” and will begin filming on October 4th in the UK. The 20-year-old Watson, who plays young witch Hermione Granger in the superhit fantasy franchise, until now has never acted in any other live action films, unlike her co-stars. In “My Week With Marilyn,” Watson will play a wardrobe assistant named Lucy, who went on a few dates with Colin during filming. Michelle Williams will play Marilyn Monroe, Kenneth Branagh is Laurence Olivier, and Eddie Redmayne is Colin Clark. The rest of the talented cast includes Dominic Cooper and Judi Dench.
