According to one fashion executive, Angelina Jolie's longtime love served as her chief style consultant when the time came to choose a talked-about dress for the 2009 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
"We were going to dress Angelina Jolie and we had a choice of three gowns with us," Lubov Azria, chief creative officer of BCBGMaxAzriaGroup, told the website Styleist.com.
Pitt, 47, "was very decisive. He's an architect and likes geometric things," she observed.
The actor's final choice for his love? "He chose the dress that everyone thought was backwards, and it was."
Indeed, Jolie, 35, made fashion waves at the 2009 SAGs when she wore Pitt's selection, a cornflower blue Max Azria gown, backwards, spotlighting her many back tattoos rather than her cleavage. Jolie's official stylist Jen Rade explained to Us Weekly that she made the back-to-front switch to make it "more blouson."
