Monte Carlo, which is based on a Jules Bass novel titled Headhunters, is the story of a girl who travels to Europe with her BFF and her future stepsister." As it turns out, one of the girls is a dead ringer for an English heiress an improbable situation which causes them to wind up in Monte Carlo. Gomez, who plays the lead dual roles of the bratty, stuck-up Cordelia and her impostor Grace, faced the daunting task of learning 2 different British accents.
"Accent training was the hardest thing on top of learning lines," explained the 18-year-old Disney star who considered Monte Carlo the "baby steps" she needed to hone her acting skills and build her big screen resume.
Monte Carlo was filmed last year in Paris and Monaco. Cory Monteith and Luke Bracey are also among the romantic comedy's ensemble cast.
Ellen got me so good
Selena Gomez has joked that Ellen DeGeneres "got [her] good" following her appearance on the comedian's chatshow this week.
The host had played an old clip where Gomez described Bieber as "like a little brother" before asking the giggling actress, who attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party with Bieber, what she had to say about it now."I don't know!" replied Gomez. "I don't know!... I didn't lie to you, though. I will say that!"
Writing on her Twitter account afterwards, the star - who didn't directly comment on her current status with Bieber during the interview - said: "Haha Ellen got me SO good today, what a difference one visit makes ;) She's the best! (sic)."
Gomez is currently promoting her new single 'Who Says?', taken from her forthcoming, as-yet-untitled album. She recently promised that the record - which is scheduled for release this summer - will have "more depth" than her previous offerings, which include last year's A Year Without Rain.
