United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)'s Good Will Ambassador Angelina Jolie made a surprise visit to the Afghanistan to meet refugees. During his visit, he also talked about sufferings of people in countries like Libya, where people are widely protesting against ruler.
In the beginning of the year, Jolie and Pitt made a visit to the Namibia, where they donated $2 million to a wildlife sanctuary.In Afghanistan, Jolie spent time in Kabul with refugees waiting to return home and set a lot more is needed to be done for homeless Afghan people. She said that focus should be in reintegration. And it not only means providing shelter to homeless. But it also covers making sure that they get proper education, water, food, job opportunities and health care.
She feared that if nothing is done for people, crisis will come over again. She said "We need to remember that if we don't support these people in the long term to really get back on their feet, we will see a continued cycle of instability and new crises". A UNHCR employee said media that over 5.5 million people have returned to their homeland Afghanistan after US led military exercise outstayed Taliban. This was Jolie's second visit to Afghanistan.
